Best Sunshine Coast Beaches

While much of our coastline is rugged and rocky, there are some great areas to wiggle your toes and play in the sand. There can be big waves to splash in or very calm waters perfect for swimming. Full of life and providing unique environments to experience and explore by both locals and visitors, here are a few of my favourite public Sunshine Coast beaches to check out at any time of the year.

1. Roberts Creek Beach (Mandala Beach): Maybe I’m just sentimental, but I think this is one of the greatest beaches on the Coast and maybe in BC.
2. Georgia Beach: Great very quiet little beach with a very unique perspective on Keats Island.
3. Katherine Lake Beach: Great for little kids, but get there early in the season, it gets busy and the water can, dare I say, be too warm.
4. Amours Beach: This is a very sweet little beach with great public bathrooms and swim grid. Watch for local events such as the annual Polar Bear swim being hosted here.
5. Wakefield Beach: The granite rock formations are really beautiful! This is a great beach to enjoy the sunset from.

Gibsons and Sechelt provide great maps of the beaches in their respective municipalities.
