Sunshine Coast Breweries and Cideries

Sunshine Coast Breweries and Cideries are once again open for business, with reconfigured properties and tap rooms meeting, or exceeding, physical distancing requirements in accordance with Provincial Health Officer guidelines and regulations.

Here are some of our family-friendly favourites, in geographical order.

Persephone Brewing, or, "the beer farm" as locals refer to it, has plenty of room for guests to physically distance and socialize on its 11acre farm, located just 5 minutes from the Langdale ferry. Families may enjoy the whole farm experience: large picnic areas, an apiary, fire-pit, a full-production market garden, (contributing to local food security) a cider apple orchard and chicken coop! Food on site, brought to you by Farm Hand Food Truck. Dogs on leashes are welcome while their humans enjoy a farm fresh pint.

Tapworks Brewery, in Lower Gibsons, has the only roof top patio in B.C., and boasts a most beautiful view of the Gibson harbour, and Keats Island. Since opening their doors in 2017, Tapworks has become a community hub with its many social events, including live music, and its welcoming atmosphere. The taproom is laid out like a friend's living room, so you, and your family and friends will feel right at home! Games night anyone? Snacks available!

Sunday Cider is in Gibsons, on the way to Robert's Creek, and their outdoor picnic area will be opening this summer! While this family-friendly cidery has been specializing in cider “to go”, they will soon invite guests to come by, pick some berries, and stay for a "glass on the grass". We can't wait!

Batch 44 in downtown Sechelt is a new, family-friendly brewery. Owned by two brothers, who each have children of their own, Batch 44 has a great atmosphere, delicious pub-fare and a children’s menu (with an adult sized Mac and Cheese!) Patio seating arriving in July!

At Brickers Cidery they truly "keep it in the family" with 7 family members contributing to logistics, cider making, sales, accounting and crop/produce growing. Their five-acre farm in West Sechelt also has a welcoming and relaxing vibe in its outdoor picnic area. Hanging out here on sunny day feels like you've gone on vacation, even if you live nearby.

Double-check websites and Instagram accounts for current schedules and protocols, so you're not disappointed.

Cheers!
