Located at the south end of the Sunshine Coast, Gibsons is a quaint town of artists, entrepreneurs and fishing boats. In 2009, it was named the best place in the world to live, among communities with fewer than 20,000 residents, by the International Awards for Liveable Communities. But, it's perhaps most famously known as the location for the longtime hit TV show The Beachcombers, which first aired in 1972 and ran until 1990.

Gibsons is ideal for residents seeking close proximity to "the city" or Vancouver. There is a great mix of restaurants, cafes and bars to enjoy in both Upper and Lower Gibsons. Amenities in this lovely seaside town include library, Gibsons Public Market, Gibsons Art Gallery, Gibsons Art Centre, skate park, ice rink, parks, and a Marina.

The Town of Gibsons makes up a small geographical area, while the surrounding areas, such as Langdale, Elphinstone, Bonniebrook, that are all considered "Gibsons" are actually part of the Sunshine Coast Regional District
